Francesco in Camigliano, della Diocesi di Calvi cinque miglia sopra la città di Capua." "This anonymous account describes a miraculous statue of Our Lady of Carmine, anointed and consecrated by church officials in 1777 in the chapel of the Carmelite monastery of St. Francis in Camigliano (40 km north of Naples). Locals and visitors alike were cured of grave illnesses upon beseeching the statue, which also restored to bloom wilted flowers. The most recent miracle recounted here took place in August 1787. Physician testimonies and eyewitness accounts inform the present account. Prayers to the Virgin of Carmine for recitation in the chapel or during private prayer close the volume"--Book vendor.
