Summary:Illustrated Latin-Italian publication of the office of the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin Mary, for the use of devotees (possibly a confraternity) in the cathedral of Reggio Calabria. The preface is a history of the cult of the Sorrows of the Virgin Mary, from Byzantium through the Middle Ages to present-day Reggio. A dedicatory letter, dated 1785, to Ippolita Ruffo, Duchess of Bagnara, is signed Teofilo Servita.
