Summary:In 1530 the Dominican friars at their monastery in Soriano, Italy, began to dsplay public veneration for a portrait of the founder of their order. The Dominicans claim that the Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, and St. Catherine of Sienna appeared at the dooor of the friary as ordinary women bearing a gift. This account of the miraculous appearance of the women and their gift was first printed in 1652. This 1827 edition is only the second printing, and the first in the New World.--Book vendor.
