The bulk of the collection includes newspaper clippings, annual reports, and photographs that span the 1950s to the early 1980s. Biographical Note Little Brothers of the Poor is an international organization founded in France in 1946 that is dedicated to loving the lonely and poor elderly. Their motto is Flowers Before Bread. They believe the disadvantaged elderly deserve beauty and love in their lives as well as the basic necessities. In 1959 Armand Marquiset, the founder of the Little Brothers of the Poor, received permission from Albert G. Meyer, the Archbishop of Chicago, to establish the Chicago Chapter.
