Sixteen biographical sketches, preceded by prefatory note. Facing the text are 16 portraits, the first 14 of which were engraved by Westerhout (the last signed Antonius Odatij Romanus pinx., Arnoldus Van Westerhout sculp.), the 15th drawn by Pietro Nelli and engraved by Westerhout's pupil Jakob Frey, and the 16th by G.A. Faldoni.
